If you had a very precious jewel then you would keep it safe, make sure that it was always polished and seen only by people who really deserved to see it. Your CV is just the same.

If your CV is sent to lots and lots of people by a number of agencies, it will become tarnished, dirty and dull and become common as coal. People will no longer stare in wonder at it but throw it to one side and say; "I have seen this before and it is no longer special". So guard it jealously and make sure that you know where it is being sent and who will be seeing it.
